What was New This Year

  • Recognize Your Colleagues!
This is a joint initative with UBC Vancouver as they are hosting their annual Staff & Faculty Sports Day the same day. We are celebrating the end of the school year at Sports Day and we want you to help us recognize the personal and professional achievements of our colleagues across campus.  Submit via Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #UBCSportsDay or post on the UBCO Rec Sports Day Facebook event a picture and/or a comment by May 1, 2017, and we'll add it to our Recognition Display at Sports Day (with permission of course from the person you've chosen to recognize).  You can also submit on the UBC Vancouver Sports Day
     website.
  • New Challenge: UBC Okanagan vs. UBC Vancouver in the Step It Up Challenge
UBC Vancouver holds Sports Day on May 5 just like UBC Okanagan, so this year we've challenged the Vancouver campus to beat us in a step challenge. Each Sports Day team at both campuses will be asked to have one team member track their steps for their participation in the day on behalf of their team (and report in at the finish). Whichever campus has the most average steps per Sports Day participant, will win the Step It Up Award!  The other campus will then have to post a picture of the winning Sports Day committee with the trophy on their Sports Day website until the following year's Sports Day.
    Let's go Okanagan!!!

Sports Day is brought to you by UBCO Human Resources, Work Re-Integration & Accommodation Program
 in partnership with UBCO Recreation.
