Canadian Post-Secondary Community of Practice for Workplace Wellness

Mission:

We are a group of Canadian Universities and Colleges who are interested in working together to solve common problems in our areas of work which includes but is not limited to workplace health promotion, disability management, psychological health and safety issues and accommodation.  Our purpose is to encourage higher education for the group members, to participate in collaborative conversations, share best practices, develop mentoring relationships, facilitate professional development dialogue and increase our career resources and acumen.

Vision:

While recognizing that each university/college is unique in its structure, through our Community of Practice (COP) group, we share a common goal to create positive change within our workplaces.  The COP recognizes that this will only be successful by establishing stable relationships of knowledge sharing.

Participation is completely voluntary, but activity is important in order to facilitate the mutual interest in helping each other grow professionally in higher education.  At present, we gather monthly via teleconference bringing ideas to the agenda that require shared expertise and problem solving.

Membership includes the following university/college work functions:

  • Human Resources
  • Health Promotion
  • Work-Life Services
  • Disability Management
  • Health and Safety
