Expectations of a Mentor

  • commit to a yearlong mentoring relationship
  • attend Pre-Program meeting for mentors
  • attend the orientation luncheon for mentor-mentee pairs
  • commit to contact with your mentee a minimum of 2 hours/month with specifics negotiated jointly
  • develop a meeting process to facilitate growth and learning for the mentee
  • attend midyear mentor meeting to provide feedback on the mentoring program
  • attend year end mentor-mentee luncheon
  • participate with mentee in relevant seminars through CTL, Research Services etc.
  • attend mentor network meetings to share experiences with other mentors
  • contribute towards evaluation and continued development of the mentoring program
  • include mentoring activity in annual report as a service activity
